Our Programs
Infant Childcare
Birth – 2 year old
The CDC provides a safe and nurturing environment for your young child to experience God’s love and a place for them to explore God’s world around them. Our care givers spend quality time interacting with your child, talking with them and introducing them to new experiences as appropriate. For infants who cannot move about the room, care givers frequently change the place and position of your infant and the selection of available toys. Infants are given “tummy time” to help them develop large motor skills for rolling over and crawling. Age appropriate toys are made available for toddlers. Books and picture cards are used to help develop language and vocabulary skills. Play based age appropriate activities using your child’s senses, and small and large motor skills are part your child’s learning experience.
Toddler Program
Two Year Olds
Recognizing that the second year of your child’s growth contains many significant developmental milestones, our two year old program is split into two phases: one for younger twos and one for older twos. Each phase emphasizes age and developmentally appropriate learning activities focusing on emerging skills. The younger twos program continues to emphasizes early development of vocabulary and language skills. The older twos curriculum begins to introduce more structured learning activities.
Pre-Kindergarten Program
3 and 4 year olds
It is our belief that your child learns by doing. Understanding that a child will use every aspect of their senses and bodies to learn about their world, whole-child and sensory approaches are practiced. Our teachers seek to utilize hands-on approaches in instruction to make the children’s environment child-oriented. We do this through instructional activities, games, art activities, manipulatives, songs, finger plays, recipes and field trips. We seek to meet the individual needs of each child and provide for them a time of enjoyment and fun. Our learners are active participants, interacting with both adults and their peers through their learning experience.
After School Program
Kindergarten – 5th Grade
The School Age Program is available each afternoon during the regular school year from approximately 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and during the summer from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During the school year, seat belt equipped buses make pick-ups at three area schools: Clinton Park Elementary, Northside Elementary, and Eastside Elementary. School age care is also available for school holidays. Educationally appropriate activities are planned for your child, including arts/crafts; reading room; recreation; group and individual games; free play in our gym or playground; and fields trips – both fun and service-oriented. Homework time is available during the regular school year for Grade 1-5.
Our summer camp program seeks to provide activities that are unique and positive. Each week is organized into special themes. Special guests are brought in to enhance the unit’s theme. Your child will participate in Vacation Bible School and Kid’s Camp week at the Morrison Heights Baptist Church main campus. Your child may participate in service oriented mission projects. In addition, we provide “fun days” with field trips that include bowling and movies.
